A Unique Family Experience

70 Fore Street, Totnes, Devon, Tel 01803 863821

The Totnes Museum, like a time machine, takes visitors back to other worlds: from prehistoric times, through the Elizabethan period (from which the building dates), moving on to the Victorian age, the time of Charles Babbage (father of the computer), and the ill-fated Australian expedition of W. J. Wills. The Totnes Museum is not a dry academic exhibition, it is a lively presentation designed with families and children in mind.

There are guessing games, puzzles, dolls houses, railway paraphernalia, a Victorian grocer’s shop, an Elizabethan kitchen and much more. It is a service point for Devon Records Office and is reputed to have one or two extra guests, of the ghostly kind.

Open mid March to last full week in October (October 31st 2008) Monday-Friday 10.30am-5.00pm. Open some Bank Holiday Mondays but please double check with the Museum before travelling to visit.
Limited opening times in December for Christmas shopping. Please check exact times of opening with the Museum.
