Commemoration of the 1860 Burke and Wills Expedition to cross Australia
Friday August 20th 2010 - Sunday August 22nd 2010
2010 will mark the 150th anniversary of the Burke and Wills Expedition across Australia. They were the first Europeans to cross the continent from south to north but both died on the return journey. Wills was originally from Totnes and so there will be a civic celebration of their incrediable journey. Other events will be held throughout the year in collaboration with Melbourne, Australia.
