Burke and Wills Commemoration and Plaque Unveiling in Totnes

On the 150th anniversary of the first European-led expedition to cross the continent of Australia, Totnes will welcome the Australian High Commissioner and other dignitaries to an event which will honour the son of Totnes who played a key role in the expedition, William Wills.

At 2.15pm, after a private lunch at The Guildhall, the civic party will move onto to the Civic Square to raise the Australian flag. At 2.45 pm, the party will then process onward to the Plains where at 3.00pm blue commemorative plaques will be unveiled on the Wills Memorial and on his former home.
